Monday's Memory of Mom

March 24, 2008

My mom wrote this letter to me at a very difficult time in my life. I found it a few months ago and tucked it into my Bible for safe keeping. I hope you enjoy reading her words and heart. Then I want you to go write a letter to your daughter(s).

  1. How beautiful! What a blessing it must have been to grow up having her as your mom...

    Just precious!

  3. I will definitely be writing a few letters this evening. Thank you for sharing this.

  4. What a precious treasure you have. Thank you for sharing it with us.

  5. How odd, not your post, but that I haven't replied to this. I did reply to it yesterday. I must not have stayed to make sure the word verification was typed in or something.

ANYhoo, I did say then that I wondered if your mom had a clue what a treasure that letter would some day be to you.

I need to write letters to both of my kids. I've thought of it many times over the years, but never gotten around to it. I need to quit putting it off.

  6. I need to write letters, too. ;o)

I don't think she had any clue...My relationship with my mom was strained in many ways, but the turning point, where we got to know each other as WOMEN, was when I became a single mom and that's when this letter was written. God did a lot of work on both of our hearts and healed our relationship. Praise God, before cancer and not because of cancer.

  7. That's a great testimony, Amy.

  8. I need to write letters too. Thanks for the reminder.
I treasure the last birthday card my dad sent me one month before he died.

I am so grateful to all of you who take the time to leave a comment!
I will respond to your comment/questions in an email unless you have your email hidden. In that case, I will reply to your comment on my blog. Also, I apologize for having to block anonymous users - too much spam was coming through.

Grace and peace to all of you!
