During my growing up years, I dabbled with many different forms of creative expression, but when I inherited my mom's sewing machine in 2008, I knew quilting was a hobby where I would never get bored. It truly is a passion and there is always something new to learn or a skill to master!
Most of the quilts I make are given away as gifts (every new baby at my church gets a quilt) or donated to charities. The joy is in the making and I can't keep them all! Trust me, I still have plenty of quilts all around the house to cuddle up under on the beds or couch. 😉
In the spring of 2014 I visited a darling quilt shop in West Branch, Iowa called Cotton Creek Mill. Two weeks later, I began working part time. It was the first time I accidentally found a job I wasn't looking for! Not only does working help me afford my quilting obsession, it's also a place where I can grow in my quilting journey and learn new skills. I love to encourage fellow quilters and be an encouragement to them. It's such joy to share in their excitement! If you are ever in West Branch, Iowa, please stop in to visit! I would love to meet you!!
I keep my blog quilt related most of the time, but occasionally I talk about the other loves of my life: my precious husband, Russ, and my darling grandchildren.
I can always be reached by email. Feel free to drop me a line if you have any questions about what you see or read here or if just want to chat!
Have a happy day!!
