2015 One Word ~ Trust

1.04.2015

The word I chose to meditate on for this year is TRUST. I want to go deeper in my understanding and what it means to trust God's sovereignty, mercy, grace, and faithfulness in the good times and the hard times. My desire is to worry less and to trust more.

Have you picked out a word to meditate on this year? I would love to hear what you chose. =)

  1. Great word! I stole someone else's; INTENTIONAL. I'm gonna work on living intentionally! Happy 2015! (Can't believe I said 2015, where did 1989 go?)

  2. Amy, My word is also TRUST! I picked it for exactly the same reason as you and I picked it before I ever saw your post, so I will thinking of you and praying for you while I'm learning to TRUST GOD more. Dawn

  3. Wonderful word!! I too chose the word 'Trust' for 2015 - (I mentioned it on an earlier blog post). Imagine my surprise and delight that you too chose this word for the new year! "Great minds think alike" :)!

  4. Great word Amy! I think we all could learn to Trust the Lord after all He knows the whole story already. 😀 The word I choose was Humility. You already knew that 😉 Happy New Year! 🎉

  5. That is a great word. My word last year was grateful and with being grateful is also trusting more. Where it has taken me this last year is a blessing. My word this year is reduce. My closet (from the old life to new) my fabric stash, quilt tops, and my body.

  6. Super word!! I was editing an article earlier today and this bit leaped out at me:

"...our precious Lord has not left us in our earthly venture all alone: He Himself leads the way. And while we will not see the fiery pillar, we have His Word and His indwelling Spirit who will never forsake us. I love the word shall—“The Lord shall guide thee continually” (Is. 58:11). This makes it certain that God will not forsake us! C.H Spurgeon said, 'His precious ‘shalls’ and ‘wills’ are better than men’s oaths.'”

Trust on my part stands more readily against the gales when I am convinced the One I'm trusting in is absolutely, completely, and without fail trustworthy!

Happy 2015 to you --- I've enjoyed tracking along with you!

  7. That's a good word and worthy goal! I've never chosen a "word for the year". But then, I'm not a "life verse" or "year verse" type person either. Hm...something to think about. Some other interesting ideas do present themselves from this, though. Thanks for bringing it up!

There are a lot of good verses on trust. Prv. 3:5-6 of course is a classic. Another verse I've liked for years is Proverbs 29:25, The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.

Keep looking unto Jesus! (Heb. 12)
