Vintage fabric

5.09.2013

My dear friend Judy found this great vintage fabric at the thrift store and bought it for me.

You read that right! Five whole yards!! It measures 35 inches across, but still...

Isn't it pretty?

  3. Lovely! I think it is interesting how sewing has gone from what the poor person did to now a very expensive hobby. This is quite the find! Tis the season for yard sales and flea markets!

  4. Beautiful fabric! I agree with Amanda. I remember my mom sewing my clothes because it was so much less expensive. Then in college I sewed most of my clothing because I needed the money for school expenses.

  7. I do remember 47 cents per yard; I remember 35 inch wide too. I'm pretty sure I was still buying quite a bit of narrow fabric in the late 60s and early 70s.
This piece is absolutely gorgeous. Hooray for your friend for picking it up for you and hooray for you for having such a great friend!
