Charming Stars...The beginning

10.26.2010

Charming Stars is a fun quilt to make and it goes together quickly!

As I was cutting off the bits, I thought it wouldn't hurt to try to save them.

I pined them before I cut them off to help them stay together until I could sew them together.

They sewed up fairly easily, for being so small. I hate to see even the smallest piece of fabric go to waste when it's a line I really love. And I love this line...

First block done!

It's only just begun....Can you tell I have been listening to The Carpenter's lately?

  4. A favorite pattern, and like you, I can't waste fabric either...the rectangles would make a great little border for another quilt maybe.

  5. Amy, I liked this one so much, I have the tab opened on my computer, like I could start it with the wedding plans right now, lol. Yours is gonna be beautiful. I saved my triangles from another project, too, but try this next time: I went ahead and sewed the second seam as I went, instead of pinning-! then , you are left to cut, press and go.

  10. I love what you have done with the quilt! And your HST are so super cute. What a great way to recyle/reuse every piece of fabric.

The colors are stunning and I'll bet you will be done with this quilt really soon! Love your version.

Hope the sun is shining in your corner of the world,
    Stefanie
